Kelly Newman specializes in partner and group placements at top law firms. She has conducted searches and placed partners at AmLaw firms, Chambers-rated regional firms, and boutiques. Kelly has also guided firms, start to finish, through mergers as both the acquirer and acquiree.

In addition, Kelly has also worked in the lobby space representing Members of Congress and other high-ranking government officials transitioning into the private sector at law firms. 

​

Kelly’s diverse experience gives her the ability strategically work to conduct searches and successfully place top-quality candidates and groups. Her business background enhances her ability to give strategic consulting and guidance to both firms and candidates. She has a consultative approach to her clients and understands their long-term, strategic goals to find the best opportunities and candidates in the market. She prides herself on the highest levels of integrity, transparency, and accountability.

 

Prior to her recruiting career, Kelly was a CFO of a small company, Assistant Vice President at M&T Bank, and government contracting consultant for IBM. In each role, she was active in recruiting for her team.

She played varsity women’s lacrosse at Duke where she was the team captain, All-ACC, and an Academic All-American. In her time outside of work, she enjoys coaching her children in youth sports, boating, and traveling.

Kelly obtained her B.A. from Duke University and her MBA from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.
